One of my first assignments of the new year was to head into a local grove for the citrus harvest.
Ripped gloves push through thorn to pluck fruit from limb with motor sport speed. In the grove, speed matters and age is just another number. Harvesters shoot up and down ladders picking a tree clean in minuets. One after the next, relentless work. Sweet citrus and word fills the air as the pickers sing their song and rush forward to the next tree.
